Frequently Asked Questions

I have just bought home a new puppy what training should I book?

Puppy Preschool is always a great start as you get to learn with new friends and watch and understand how your new puppy interacts with others.

With preschool there is a limit of 2 family members per puppy so this may not suit. If you would like the whole family present or cannot commit to the whole course we recommend a private in home consultation where we come to you.

We also offer playgroup sessions for the socialisation aspect should you wish to utilise a private in home session.

When is the best time for my puppy to start Puppy Preschool?

Puppies are safe to start with us 1 week after their first vaccination as long as they have been in their new home for 5-7 days or more, so as to not overwhelm.

While they need to wait until after their second vaccination to head outside, Paws Plus Puppy School is a safe environment. All surfaces are treated prior to your arrival and all vaccinations are checked.

Puppies that start preschool  between 9-15 weeks, see best outcome going forward and the course content is created for this age group

Can I attend Puppy Primary if I haven't been to Puppy Pre-school?

In our Puppy Primary course, we build on learnt skills from  Paws Plus Preschool. This next stage of learning is designed to challenge all dogs so having a good understanding of basic behaviours ( at least 2) is strongly recommended prior to signing up.

If you missed Puppy Preschool, don't worry,  book a Fast Track Session, designed specifically to get you ready for Primary School so you wont be left behind.

Can the whole family attend the group classes?

Unfortunately, we can only allow 2 family members per puppy in Puppy Preschool and 3  for Puppy Primary.

All family members must be able to remain seated for the duration of the class unless when doing practical work.

If you would like the whole family present, no problem just book a private consultation where we come to your home or a Fast Track.

Where are the training sessions held?

Group classes and Fast Tracks are held at IPET STORE in Kirrawee .

For Private In Home Consultations we come to you!

We are based in the Sutherland Shire but travel all over Sydney.

What time of day are the classes held?

Puppy Preschool and Puppy Primary classes start at either 5.30pm, 6.30pm or 7.30 pm weeknights and 7.30am Saturdays.

Upon booking you will receive times and dates for your course.

Puppy Playgroup sessions commence from 5.30pm - drop off/ pick up times are staggered to allow us to chat to each pet parent and discuss how their pup went during the lesson.
